FWPD promote five of their own

The Fort Wayne Police Department held a ceremony today to recognize the promotion of five of their officers.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - Several of Fort Wayne's finest moved up in rank on Friday thanks to hard work and dedication to their community.

The Fort Wayne Police Department held a promotion ceremony for five of their officers.

Lieutenant Matthew Enyeart was promoted to Captain.

Sergeant Randall Hosford was promoted to merit rank of Lieutenant.

Officers Sofia Rosales-Scatena, Josef Cutler and Shannon Hughes will all be Sergeants.

The ceremony today honored the five officers careers up to this point as they move up into different roles, but the officers are stilling looking forward to serving their community.

Rosales-Scatena recounted some of the more memorable moments of her career thus far. She said, Ssome particular cases over the years that I’ve helped been able to solve. Some murders and some sexual child abuse cases. Those always give me really good satisfaction, bringing justice to families, so i’m looking forward to doing more in the future."

With this promotion and three more months of training, Rosales-Scatena will become the official public information officer for the department.
