FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- Fort Wayne police are currently investigating a shooting that happened on 4th street Wednesday evening.
The call to dispatch came in at 8:42 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 400 block of East 4th Street.
Officers say when they arrived at Lawton Park they found a boy in the parking lot who appeared to have been shot.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition.
Upon arriving at the hospital his condition worsened to life-threatening according to a physician.
Investigators say the shooting occurred near the intersection of Spy Run Avenue and East Fourth Street.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses at police headquarters in an effort to obtain information on a potential suspect.
