FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Coroner's Office has identified the man who was found dead in a Fort Wayne apartment early Wednesday morning by his girlfriend.
Police and the coroner are investigating the death of 23-year-old Daelon Christopher Locke as a homicide.
Just before 1 a.m. Wednesday, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1200 block of St. Marys Avenue for an unknown problem.
Police say a woman reported to Allen County dispatchers that she arrived at her boyfriend’s apartment and found him unconscious on the floor.
Paramedics pronounced Locke dead at the scene.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called in to start a death investigation.
The cause of death is gunshot wounds.
Locke is the 15th homicide in Allen County in 2021.
