FWPD K9, Nemo, passes away

Nemo was 14 years old. Police said Nemo's health declined due to an age related disease.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Fort Wayne police said Friday retired K9 officer, Nemo died Thursday with his partner, Officer Dustin Engelman, by his side. 

Nemo was 14 years old. Police said Nemo's health declined due to an age related disease. 

Nemo joined FWPD on October 21, 2005. He retired from active service on November 1, 2014. Nemo spent his retirement with his family, and enjoyed destroying Officer Engelman's garden. 

Nemo was known for doing his job his own way. He will be missed by his FWPD family.
