FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Police say they are looking for two people in connection to an early morning collision near downtown Fort Wayne Sunday that left one person dead and three others injured.
Just before 1:30 a.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a crash with possible injuries in the area of Lafayette and Clinton streets.
Investigators say a pick-up truck and a small car were involved and the truck appeared to have struck a pole and one of the occupants was trapped inside at the intersection of Lafayette and Clinton streets by McKinnie Avenue.
Police say four people were inside the pick-up truck and one was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other three people inside the truck were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say that witnesses in the area saw two people get out of the other car involved in the crash and run away.
This crash remains under investigation.
