FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - Fort Wayne Community Schools wants to get rid of its Racial Balance Fund.

The school board is asking the state legislature to get rid of the fund.

This will help the district align with the school funding changes approved last year.

However, it didn't address FWCS's $7.1 million Racial Balance Fund.

The fund supports several programs, mostly the seven magnet schools in the district.

Those programs will continue, just the money will be put in one of two accounts.
