FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- City officials have selected a team that will design and implement Phases II and III of the Riverfront Fort Wayne Project.
David Rubin Land Collective, which is headquartered in Philadelphia has a team that will create a Riverfront Fort Wayne master plan, infrastructure plan, to see what changes are needed to support new development and Riverbank public space improvements. The next step is for city council to approve the $2.5 million contract on August 14. Funding comes from the .13 percent adjustment to the local income tax approved last year.
"It represents multiple communities opportunity to have folks have representation in the context of this extraordinary linear natural feature. We're really excited about what this means to collaborate with the city," said David Rubin.
If approved by City Council, construction will start right away. Construction along the riverbank on the public spaces will start the end of this year or early next year.
