Couple arrested in Garrett after drug raid

GARRETT, Ind. (WFFT) — The Garrett Police Department served a search warrant for narcotics on Oct. 12 at 7:15 a.m. after receiving tips about illegal drug activity in a residence.

Garrett Police served the warrant Saturday morning at the 500 block of S. Peters St.

Officers were able to locate methamphetamine, a hypodermic syringe, paraphernalia, and marijuana.

Police say two adults were inside the home and arrested after the investigation.

The two adults arrested were Joseph A. Chisholm, 56, and Melissa K. Chisholm, 49.

They said a juvenile was also located within the residence with the Chisholm's stating the juvenile was also involved with narcotics.

Melissa Chisholm allegedly admitted to having used meth with the juvenile recently.

Information involving the juvenile’s involvement was forwarded to DCS and DeKalb County Probation Office.

• Joseph A. Chisholm, Age 56, Garrett, IN
-Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 5 Felony
-Neglect of A Dependent, a Level 6 Felony;
-Contributing to Delinquency, a Class A misdemeanor:
-Failure to Make Report on Child Abuse, a Class B misdemeanor;
-Habitual Offender Enhancement

• Melissa K. Chisholm, Age 49, Garrett, IN
-Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 5 Felony
-Neglect of A Dependent, a Level 6 Felony
-Contributing to Delinquency, a Class A Misdemeanor
