FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The man who was involved in a deadly cave-in was identified by the corner Wednesday morning.
Fort Wayne police and firefighters responded to the area of Huffman Street and Franklin Avenue just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials with the Fort Wayne Fire Department said the worker has died from the incident.
The Alen County Coroner's Office identified the man as 50-year-old Michael Ramos of Fort Wayne.
The coroner ruled his cause of death as asphyxia due to chest compression and the manner of death is an accident.
Ramos was a contractor working for the city who was buried about 24 feet deep.
This incident is being investigated by the IOSHA, Fort Wayne Fire Department and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
