COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WFFT) -- There's a big plan for a small city. Columbia City officials releasing its master plan for a $50 million project.
Officials believe it's going to bring a lot of attention and energy into the city, although they understand they won't see the results right away.
"We don't even get the property until 2021, so it's going to be a while," says Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel.
The location is a gift to the city, donated by the school as construction at the Columbia City High School property, as the construction for the new campus continues across town.
The project will include a number of amenities including a skate park, an amphitheater, an indoor athletic gymnasium and more.
Mayor Daniel calls this a "generational project," and for good reason.
He says money of this magnitude isn't going to come overnight, but he believes the end result will bring a big boost to Columbia City.
"A community development is focused on bringing more people to enhance quality of life and improve the community as a whole," says Daniel.
