NORTH WEBSTER, Ind. (WFFT) — Authorities say a social media app helped them find a 19-year-old driver who was critically injured in a late Tuesday night crash in Kosciusko County.
Just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, first responders in Kosciusko County responded to a crash on County Road 350 North, east of C.R. 925 East in Tippecanoe Township, southeast of North Webster.
Deputies say the driver, Easton Adkins, of Columbia City, was reportedly trying to find someone he knew near Durham Lake around 10:30 p.m.
Witnesses reportedly told deputies that they lost contact with Adkins and began to search the area for him.
Investigators say Adkins was driving east on C.R. 350 N when his car went off the road for an unknown reason and crashed into a tree near the public access entrance of the Pisgah Marsh Nongame Area.
Kosciusko County deputies said they were able to find Adkins thanks to his location from Snapchat Tuesday night.
Adkins was airlifted from the scene in critical condition by the Parkview Samaritan.
