COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WFFT) -- The Columbia City community is coming together after a warehouse explosion on Saturday.
Indiana State Police say authorities responded to 515 N. Line St. Saturday morning where they found the building engulfed in flames.
Two people escaped with minor injuries.
A third person was found dead inside.
Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel says the explosion was a tragedy.
“Even in the midst of the chaos that was occurring during the fire, and subsequent time after that, we saw family members gathering together, supporting each other,” Mayor Daniel said.
He's happy to see his residents supporting one another.
“I'm very confident that this community will continue to support the family and friends of the individual who passed away from this terrible incident,” he said.
Daniel says, for the most part, there wasn't a lot of damage aside from the one building.
