FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Authorities announced they arrested a Fort Wayne man in connection to a July shooting at a local motel Thursday evening.
The Fort Wayne Police Department said they arrested 26-year-old Jeremiah G. Stevenson, along with United Stated Marshals, on Thursday in connection to the death of 41-year-old Jean Emmanuel Duperat.
Duperat was killed a shooting at the Coliseum on July 8.
Stevenson and Jessica Sexton were considered "persons of interest" in the case by FWPD at the time.
FWPD said homicide detectives and US Marshals received information that Stevenson was hiding out in a home in the 3600 block of Winter Street.
Officers who went to that location were able to find Stevenson in the home at the time of the arrest.
He was taken into custody and after being interviewed police said Stevenson was charged with murder.
