FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — City and county leaders announced Friday that visitors to Citizens Square and the Rousseau Centre will be required to wear face masks starting Monday, July 27.
The Allen County Board of Commissioners and Mayor Tom Henry said this is in compliance with Governor Eric Holcomb’s executive order which mandates masks be worn in public due to COVID-19.
Face Mask Mandate
Officials said several extra safety measures have been in place for "a number of weeks to help ensure the health and safety of employees and visitors."
These include the installation of hand sanitizer stations, signage marking social distancing placement, and the installation of plexiglass shields for employee and customer/public interactions.
In addition to wearing a mask, visitors to the city and county buildings are recommended to utilize the hand sanitizer stations that are provided at the facilities and to practice social distancing.
No more than two people are allowed to be on an elevator at a time.
