FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - People around the world are ready to hear the engines roaring this weekend in Indianapolis.
Some of those engines were made right here in Fort Wayne.
You'll be seeing quite of a few of these Chevrolet Silverado trucks this weekend for the Indianapolis 500. The Chevrolet Silverado is now the official truck for the event.
"Behind us we have the all new Chevy Silverado. This truck behind me is our RST model. The all-new Silverado has several different trims to choose from, so we like to say we have a different truck that fits every truck customer," Silverado Marketing Director Mark Sobczynski said.
Besides the sleek look and features this truck is doing it all this weekend for the Indianapolis 500. They'll be pulling in the floats and helping with the setup.
"We've never really come up with a truck an official truck and really named it the official truck for race weekend so this is a first for us to do that up here in Fort Wayne. We're just really excited to do that," President of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Doug Boles said.
These trucks were built here in Fort Wayne, and they'll also be giving the men and women who served in the military a ride. Boles said it's one of the most powerful moments before the race to see them in the trucks coming down for the celebration.
Chevrolet has been in partnership with the Indianapolis 500 for over 20 years.
