NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WFFT) - Tuesday is the official kick off for New Haven's Canal Days Festival.

The festival committee, which has community leaders, businesses, churches, and residents, are working hard, and they have been all year long to make this happen even adding new things this year at Schnelker Park like helicopter rides.

"This year we've got a helicopter rides each night with Paratus Air out of Smithfield. They're coming out doing helicopter rides for a minimum of 2 people. Maximum 3 people. It's a couple minute ride but it’s something people don't get to do on a regular basis.
We also have the Imagine Real Estate Remax hot air balloon out here on Saturday morning from 7 to 9,” organizer Jon Stauffer said.

The festival will be from June 4th until the 8th.
