FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Tim Smith, a local business leader at Medpro group, hosted a news conference Tuesday morning on his mayoral bid.
During the news conference, he shared brief remarks and his vision for Fort Wayne.

Smith said people expect more out of city government but they are not getting it.
He said under his leadership, Fort Wayne would become the safest, smartest and strongest city in the midwest.
"No matter where you live, where you work, I'm running for mayor to lift the lives of every person in Fort Wayne. We are the city of churches with 2,100 filed 501c3s, 2,100 non-profits. I believe the mayor sits in a chair where he can be the chief convener of resources to help do exactly that- to lift the lives of everybody in Fort Wayne," Smith said.
Smith will compete for the Republican nomination against councilman John Crawford.
