FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was killed in a head-on collision Monday morning near the airport.
The Allen County Sheriff's Department says at 5:19 a.m. Monday officers responded to the 11900 block of Bluffton Road, just south of the Winters Road intersection regarding a crash.

The two vehicles involved in the collision were a semi, hauling 30,000 pounds of axles, and a 2006 Ford Taurus.
Investigators say, for unknown reasons, the driver of the Ford Taurus which was traveling northbound on Bluffton Road crossed the center line and collided head-on with the semi going southbound.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as 32-year-old William E. Copeland III of Bluffton.
Copeland was transported from the scene to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
The coroner ruled his cause of death to be blunt force injuries due to motor vehicle crash and his manner of death is an accident.
Copeland is the 25th fatal motor vehicle crash victim in Allen County for 2020.
This crash remains under investigation by authorities in Allen County.
