FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - A new mural was revealed in Fort Wayne on Monday afternoon.
The mural on the side of the Tasty's Pizza building on Fairfield Avenue was finished today. It might be a bit tough to read, but the words say "Better Together" with both male and female cardinals surrounding the letters, signifying unity of all as well as paying homage to Indiana.

The mural was made possible a 2018 Neighborhood Improvement Grant from the City of Fort Wayne worth $5,000 and awarded to the Historic Fairmont Place Neighborhood.
Theoplis Smith and Matthew Plett were the two artists who painted the "Better Together" mural. Smith says just like the mural, art strengthens the bond of a community.
"Art can sometimes be presented as a luxury. Definitely, if you notice, it’s a visual communication and once more it brings all walks of life together. It gets you talking, it gets you intrigued," Smith said.
The mural was also partially funded with private donations.
