FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Felderman Design-Build announced on Thursday the Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana/Kentucky Chapter will have a new home right here in Fort Wayne.
The revitalized facility is located at 4201 Parnell Ave., just across the street from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in the building where HH Gregg used to be.
Officials say the facility will include 42,000 square feet of state-of-the-art apprenticeship classrooms, hands-on training lab and administrative offices.
ABC Apprenticeship Coordinator Sarah Hollman said, “ABC of Indiana/Kentucky is committed to skills training and providing a pathway to success for anyone looking to enter the construction trades.”
Hollman says the new space will allow for the expansion of Carpentry, Sheet Metal, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Safety Training programs and the opportunity to add additional programs in the future.
“The new facility and increased space will allow us to be highly visible in our community and provide the opportunity to give the best quality instruction to our member employees in a state-of-the-art space, ”said ABC Council Manager Felisha Anderson.
Associated Builders and Contractors is a national construction industry trade association representing more than 21,000 members, according to a release.
She says ABC and its 69 chapters will "help members develop people, win work and deliver that work safely, ethically and profitably for the betterment of the communities in which ABC and its members work."
Anderson said ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors.
