Fort Wayne police make arrest in Hawthorn Suites deadly shooting

Fort Wayne police detectives say 28-year-old Joseph Rose is charged with murder for a shooting Tuesday morning at the Hawthorn Suites.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Police arrested a man they believe is responsible for a deadly shooting at a hotel on the north side of Fort Wayne Tuesday evening.

Just after 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Fort Wayne Homicide Detectives say they arrested 28-year-old Joseph A. Rose in connection to a shooting at Hawthorn Suites on Lima Road that left one person dead Tuesday morning.

Joseph Rose

After receiving "multiple tips all day", detectives say they were able to arrest Rose without incident in the 5700 block of Falls Drive.

Rose is facing a preliminary murder charge and is being held at the Allen County Jail.
