FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Allen County residents ages 65-69 are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Allen County Department of Health says every time they move to a younger age group, they’re able to cater to a much larger percentage of the population.

Health Commissioner Dr. Matthew Sutter says the county’s priority is the most vulnerable but they’d love to vaccinate more demographics.
“We’re getting the vaccine week by week. We’d like to see more of it. We have much more capacity that we can put shots in arms if we just get the vaccine. We’ll get there as soon as we can. The state doesn’t really know either, it’s hard to predict that,” Dr. Sutter said.
Sutter says the next age group, those 60-65, is an even larger percentage of the population.
They make up 500,000 people in Indiana.
