FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Health officials announced that 183 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Allen County bringing the total to 31,220 as of Wednesday.
The Allen County Department of Health reported 19 new deaths Wednesday, due to a delay in reporting, increasing the total to 537 for the county.
ACDH says positive antigen tests, which are counted as probable COVID-19 cases, are now included in the department’s contact tracing efforts along with confirmed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results

The department says PCR results have always been used to identify positive COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
The Allen County case count now includes a total of 10,290 probable cases from antigen tests reported since July 28, 2020.
