FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was shot and killed on Wednesday morning at an apartment complex on the north side of Fort Wayne.
Just after 4 a.m. Wednesday, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to The Summit at Ridgewood Apartments in the 1000 block of Ridgewood Drive regarding gunshots being fired in the area.
When officers arrived they found a man who was shot in the head.
The victim was identified as 23-year-old Hakeem Omer Cage of Fort Wayne.
Cage was taken to a local hospital in critical condition where he later died.
His cause of death has been determined to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
Cage is the 43rd homicide victim in Allen County for 2020.
This is the third shooting, the second fatal, to occur at the apartment complex in the past four months.
This shooting remains under investigation by authorities in Allen County.
