FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified two men who were killed in separate incidents in Fort Wayne on Sunday morning.
The first victim identified was 25-year-old Roderick J. Patterson of Fort Wayne, who was the victim of a reported stabbing after a neighbor called police on Trentman Avenue.
Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department and Three Rivers Ambulance Authority medics responded to a stabbing investigation in the 2400 block of Trentman Avenue just before 4 a.m.
Medics transported Patterson from the scene to a local hospital, death was pronounced a short time after arrival.
Officers say he was treated at the scene by medics and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Patterson was pronounced dead while at the hospital.
His cause of death was determined to be a stab wound to the chest and the manner of death is homicide.
Patterson is the 13th homicide in Allen County for 2021.
The coroner identified the second victim as 33-year-old Daniel M. Nolan of Fort Wayne.
First responders in Fort Wayne were called to the area of Hanna and Oxford streets near the Marathon gas station regarding a shooting.
Nolan was found by officers in the driver's seat of a car where medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
His cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
Nolan is the 14th homicide in Allen County for 2021.
Both killings remain under investigation by authorities in Allen County.
