FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- FortLan hosted their largest event yet this weekend, the 2017 FortCon Gaming Convention.
FortLan partnered with Comcast as they launched their new Gigabit internet service in Fort Wayne.
Over 400 people came out to the event to participate in E-sports, virtual reality, retro video game, and more.
The event raised money for Gamers Outreach to build portable video game kiosks for children who are unable to leave the hospital.
"A lot of the kids in the hospitals don't have a lot of entertainment there. They can be there for a long period of time, so these gaming kiosks, they'll play Mine Craft on there, which is a fun, exciting game where they get to build and use their imagination. When you spend that much time in the hospital, it gives them something to do," said James Fislar of FortLan.
FortCon will continue Sunday until 3:00 p.m. at the Grand Wayne Center.
