YWCA reaches full capacity, seeks donations

As temperatures drop, the YWCA has reached full capacity. 
Now, they're asking for donations from the public to help women in need.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- As temperatures drop, the YWCA has reached full capacity. 

Now, they're asking for donations from the public to help women in need. Many of the women who go to the YWCA are escaping abusive situations, and previously slept in their cars.  

The YWCA says they can only accept brand new items. Donations can be made to the YWCA at 5920 Decatur Road during regular business hours. 

          Hours: Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

          Items needed: 

  • Body wash 
  • Deodorant
  • Diapers/pull-ups 
  • Laundry soap 
  • Wash cloths
  • Towels
  • Pots/pans
  • Silverware
  • Twin size sheets and pillows 
  • Sweats
  • Sweaters
  • Socks
  • Jeans
