Expectations are high for the Ball State men's basketball program going into the season.
Head coach James Whitford has loaded his roster with in-state talent. That includes a couple of former Fort Wayne area hoopers. Columbia City grad Brachen Hazen will sit out this year after transferring from Arkansas. But for Carroll alum Kyle Mallers, it will be year two with the Cardinals.
Mallers averaged just over two points per game as a freshman, but he's expected to have an expanded role as a sophomore.. something he's earned through the first few weeks of practice.
