FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- A veteran stand down came to the pavilion at Franke Park to offer a helping hand to those who served.

The stand down brings hot meals, housing assistance, employment, and even haircuts to veterans.

This was the 27th year for the stand down in Fort Wayne. Over 100 people came through, and 30 vendors offered services at the event.

"[The event] is one that we're very proud to be able to put on for the men and women that served our country that may be having a little rough time and difficulties in day to day life," said Greg Bedford, veterans committee chairman.

If you're a veteran in need, the stand down will be in Kokomo on November 2nd and Warsaw on November 7th.
