NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WFFT)- On June 16th 2018 at approximately 12:19 am the Noble County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a wrong-way driver on State Road 3 approaching Weimer Road.
When Deputies arrived at that location they discovered that an accident had occurred involving two vehicles. While conducting an investigation, Noble County Deputies were able to determine that a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Carolyn S Gibson, of Garrett, was traveling North on State Road 3 in the South Bound lanes before striking another vehicle in the front passengers side.
Gibson was transported to Parkview Noble Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Amy Jo Mosley, 42, of Avilla was a passenger in the vehicle and transported to Parkview Regional for her injuries. The second vehicle a 2006 Honda Pilot driven by Pau Kap Thang, of Fort Wayne, was heading South on State Road 3 and attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to.
The impact caused the Honda Pilot to enter the median before coming to a rest on the driver’s side. Passengers in the Honda Pilot were Wawa Kyi, 25, Lai Lar Bee, 27, and Sa Dit, 26, all of Fort Wayne.
Thang was transported to Parkview Regonial for injuries.
Wawa Kyi was transported by Samaritan to Parkview Regional for injuries.
Lai Lar Bee and Sa Dit were both pronounced dead on scene by Paramedics.
A crash reconstructionist from the Indiana State Police was contacted to investigate the accident.
Alcohol was believed to have been a factor and any type of criminal action is pending further investigation.
