WABASH, Ind. (WFFT) -- A boy who was stabbed during a domestic dispute between his parents died over the weekend, according to authorities.
Sgt. Tony Slocum with Indiana State Police said 10-year-old Kayden Sendelbach died on Saturday, Oct. 10, after being hospitalized from a stabbing that took place on Thursday, Oct. 8 at his home in Wabash.
He was flown to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis in critical condition after being found inside his home on East Maple Street with a stab wound in his head.
Investigators say Kayden's father, 32-year-old William Sendelbach, allegedly stabbed him in the head.
Slocum said Kayden was pronounced dead on Saturday morning just before 6:30 according to the Indiana State Police.
During the incident, Sendelbach also allegedly shot a Wabash police officer, which led to police shooting him several times and hospitalizing him with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say Sendelbach and the officer who was shot are expected to recover.
No charges have been announced for Sendelbach yet at this time.
