FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — One person and a dog were killed in a house fire on the city's southside Tuesday night.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a house fire in the area of Gay and Pontiac streets just before 9:40 p.m.

When members of Engine 11 arrived they said a large amount of fire was coming from the house at 2612 Gay St.
FWFD said a fire victim was quickly found but was pronounced dead by medics at the scene.
Firefighters said one dog was found dead in the home.
FWFD said one firefighter had minor injuries from the fire.
Firefighters said the fire was under control in 30 minutes.
The fire remains under investigation.
