This week on Start Something Big, let's meet a few of the people who have been matched in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
Cheryl and Nakeria have been matched for 5 years.
"We do swimming lessons, and we hang out at my place a lot, and we bring her sister's with us sometimes," said Cheryl, Big.
Both Big and Little say they think of each other as family.
"She's nice and she's helpful, and she takes me to places I like to go," said Nykeria, Little.
Gabrielle and Cindy were recently matched in may.
"We're still discovering what our interests are, and we made a list when we got matched," said Cindy, Big.
Out of 10 things on that list, they've completed 6.
"She's practically perfect in every way. She's very fun to be with, very agreeable and mature for her age. I just love hanging out with her," said Cindy.
This week, Bigs and Littles had the chance to give back to seniors at the Kingston Retirement Community.
I feel like I'm a big sister too, it's very important to me that we get to give back, " said Mela, Liittle.
Mela says when she's older, she want's to be matched with a little.
"If I have the time, I will most definitely volunteer my time at Big Brothers Big Sisters," said Mela.
