FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - If your car is dirty and you frequent Mike's Car Wash, you might want to hold off until this weekend. That's because there's a fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Alex Clinger with the organization says it's a big deal for them.

"So this Saturday, May 11th Big Brothers Big Sisters is partnered with Mike's Car Wash. Half of the proceeds of every ultimate carwash and works carwash comes directly back to Big Brothers Big Sisters."

The money raised goes to help match kids with a big, help fund their programming and get the word out about the organization. Clinger says it's a good way to help if you can't be a big brother or big sister.

"I understand that not everyone has the time or is able to be a big in our program and that's okay. So this is a really easy way that we can get people in the community involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters just by getting their car washed."

Clinger says if you are interested in being a big, they'll have information at the car wash fundraiser. She hopes you'll consider the commitment because there's a long list of kids waiting for a mentor.

"So right now we have over 300 kids waiting on our waiting list and out of those 300 children waiting for a mentor, about 70% of those are boys, so the need for volunteers is great but the need for male volunteers is even greater."

So don't forget to get your car washed this weekend and help out local kids.
