This week on Start Something Big, Littles bring out their books for a study session for Big Brothers Big Bister's Big Futures program.
"We work with them on a weekly bases and help them with anything they need which ranges from algebra to essays and and one student working on a menu for their heath class so it's just anything really," said Big Futures Coordinator Haley Miller.
The organization provides transportation from school to the study sessions.
"There's probably about 5 to 10 depending on how many people need help," said Miller.
Little Sister Courtney says she likes what the tutoring has to offer.
" Alot of people like if I need help on any kind of questions they come right away to help me which is really nice and explain it more in-depth than what my teachers would've done."
Courtney says she often needs help with her math and science homework.
"Oh, I love it. I have more people I can interact with than what I do at school and stuff like that and meeting new people. "
Miller says there aren't a lot of tutoring services in Fort Wayne.
"We try to keep the pressure off of the Bigs, with helping with homework. It can be kind of difficult anymore. Just to have these kids meeting other Littles, and people in their situations, I think it's really important, and just to make sure that we're putting academic first. And then they get to have a little bit of fun afterwards."
