FORT WAYNE, Ind (WFFT)--- This weekend you can honor those who served our country with a round of golf.
The Dogs for Vets Golf Scramble will take place on the Eel River golf course.
Rising high school senior, Kendall Stuckey will be hosting the event for the 3rd time.
All proceeds will go towards giving veterans service dogs.
Stuckey comes from a family of veterans and knows it can be tough readjusting to everyday life.
The idea came to her when she saw how her cross fit trainer's service dog helped him.
She has now raised over $35,000 which provided two veterans with service dogs.
It's an experience she will not forget.
"Especially after they get their service dog I provided... I got to meet one of the veterans I actually provided a service dog for and it was just a life changing experience for everyone," Stuckey said.
To train and raise a service dog costs over $12,000, so Stuckey still has other ways to raise money.
In the Fall she does bakes sales.
She also makes handcrafted dog toys that she sells at markets.
