CHURUBUSCO, Ind. (WFFT) - The 3rd Annual Dogs For Vets Golf Scramble fundraiser will happen Friday.
The event will be at Eel River Golf Course, 1265 N 950 E, Churubusco.
Each golfer receives 18 holes of golf, a cart, a raffle ticket, and dinner after golfing.
Registration will be from noon - 1 p.m.
The cost is $65 per golfer or $260 per team.
Golf will begin at 1 p.m. and run until 5 p.m.
At 5, there will be dinner and door prizes.
Contests and events for the golf outing include mulligans, door prizes (raffle), 50/50 drawing, longest drive, closest to the pin, a $10,000 hole-in-one opportunity, and dinner.
All proceeds will be donated to the Veteran's Service Division of Indiana Canine Assistant Network (ICAN).
ICAN Veteran's Service is a non-profit that provides trained service dogs to veterans suffering from service-related trauma.
The cost associated with preparing dogs to go to veterans is $12,500 per dog, and it is free for the veteran.
This fundraiser was organized by Kendall Stuckey, a Churubusco High School Junior.
Stuckey has raised enough to sponsor two dogs and has a goal of fully funding two more this year.
Stuckey said this money was raised by "baking cookies, selling hand-made dog toys, and organizing a yearly golf outing with community support."
