Ivy Tech's Therapeutic Massage Student Clinic opens next week

A student-run message clinic at Ivy Tech Community College's Fort Wayne campus will soon be open to the public.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)-A student-run message clinic at Ivy Tech Community College's Fort Wayne campus will soon be open to the public.

Healthy Essence will open September 17th . Students from the therapeutic massage program will provide hour-long full-body relaxation massages.

"We've heard great things from the public. I appreciate that this is a supervised environment that the students can practice. We're offering incredible value and experience to the community. Our rates are $25 for a full 60 minute massage. We do offer a reduced rate of $20 for those who have military involvement as well as those who are over age 55," said Lynsey Saylor, Ivy Tech Therapeutic Massage Instructor.

The following hours are available by appointment:

· 4:30, 6, and 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays
· 1, 2:30, 4:30, 6, and 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays
· 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30, 3, and 4:30 p.m. Fridays (only Sept. 21, Oct. 5, Oct. 19, Nov. 2, Nov. 16, and Nov. 30)
· 10:30 a.m., noon, and 1:30 p.m. Saturdays (only Sept. 29, Oct. 13, Oct. 27, Nov. 10, and Dec. 8).

The clinic will be closed during the week of Thanksgiving and will close for the semester mid-December.
