"Well you're looking for originality, you're looking for creativity, you're looking for a consistency of style, you're trying to be realistic and you're looking for a unique flair," Charles Shepard, President and CEO of Fort Wayne Museum of Art, said.

The judges say all these students have it, rather it be with a pen or a paint brush or other materials.

Some of the students received the Gold Key Award which is the highest you can receive.

Shepard said it's events like these that keep students on the art path.

The partnership between the museum and the university is going to provide another avenue.

"We offer a Museum Studies degree with Saint Francis. That's important to mention.  A lot of the students that participate, haven't thought about their career might have another turn into the museum world, not just the fine art world or the writing world," Shepard added.

The museum and university are is also providing scholarships in hopes that the students will walk into a job at a museum.
